Aspirin for Pain Relief

Aspirin is a salicylate drug that is often used to help relieve minor pains and aches in the body. These include the occasional headache, nausea, heat stroke, overall weakness and fever. It is a relatively mild yet effective drug and is available over the counter. One need not have a prescription in order to get it. Aspirin produces an antiplatelet effect that helps prevent platelets from over clotting an open wound. In other terms this drug is used long term to help prevent heart attacks, strokes, and irregular blood clotting formation in the body. The dosage for this is fairly low.
It helps people suffering from migraines and it is 50%-60% effective overall. Aspirins have also been associated with and for treating the common cold for over a century. In fact recently it has been discovered that 1 gram of aspirin can bring down the body temperature from 39° C to 37.6° C in a mere 3 hours. The relief begins within 30 minutes of consumption and the effects stay for about 6 hours. The only undesirable disadvantage of aspirin is that it can cause gastrointestinal ulcers, stomach bleeding and tinnitus. However this usually happens under conditions of high dosage. So as long as you control your consumption, you are relatively risk free.
