BENGAY

BENGAY is a topical cream that was developed in France.  BENGAY is one of the first topical creams brought into the U.S. to be used for joint relief and arthritis pain.  It is now a product of Johnson and Johnson.  The active ingredients in this pain relief cream include as menthol, eucalyptus, or oil of wintergreen.  These ingredients work by irritating the skin where it is applied so that circulation is increased and increased blood flow is the result.  This topical analgesic also contains salicylate which is highly beneficial for pain relief and to reduce joint inflammation.

You can purchase BENGAY in various forms over the counter.  It comes in three different creams, a gel and two different kinds of pain killer patches.  The strongest form is the Ultra Strength BENGAY cream.  It is beneficial to ease the pain of arthritis, backache, sprains and strains.  The 3 active ingredients in it are; methyl salicylate 30%, Menthol 10%, and Camphor 4%.
The Arthritis Formula BENGAY Cream is useful for arthritis pain as well.  It has two active ingredients; methyl salicylate 30% and menthol 8%. 
The non greasy formula BENGAY cream is their Greaseless BENGAY Pain Relieving Cream.  This version is good to use at night or for minor aches and pains.  It contains methyl salicylate 15% and menthol 10%.  They also make a Vanishing Scent BENGAY cream. This is a topical ointment that should be kept away from the face and it is possible that there can be a rash or redness to the skin as the sign of an allergic reaction.
