What is Restless Leg Syndrome?

This syndrome is the most common of all leg-related problems and is present in a lot of people, but most of them do not know that they are suffering from it. This syndrome is actually caused in those people who have their legs inactive, or without movement for a long period of time. For instance, those who work on desk jobs and do not move for long hours, or those who have long hours of driving everyday suffer from this problem. Usually, there is a feeling of stiffness in the leg, accompanied with pain. There is also a tingling sensation, and while the person feels like moving his legs a lot to get some relief, he is unable to do so.
The more the person avoids movement, the worse the problem becomes. Therefore, doctors often advise that people should go in for regular exercising, and should involve themselves in adequate number of physical activities on a daily basis to avoid this syndrome.  For treatment, again exercising is suggested along with some medication, and in some cases physiotherapy. People suffering from this problem often find it difficult to sleep at night because the pain gets worse at that time.
