A doctor of course is the best guide to them, because he/she will be able to diagnose your problem well and suggest the correct treatment. Depending on the intensity of your problem, a doctor may either suggest oral medication which includes tablets, tonics etc., or he/she may also suggest some pain relief injections.
There are pain killers provided to the patient to deal with the pain in case of an emergency attack. Also, often a person’s age is taken into account to see what kind of medications can be given to him/her. Children of course need very different medication than adults, and this is something that the doctors have to always keep in mind.
Exercising is suggested to the patients so that they can get some relief. It is important to make sure that a person does some activity with his legs regularly to avoid them from being stiff and painful. The pain in RLS is so bad that a person is often unable to sleep at night because of it. The pain worsens with increased inactivity, and that needs to be avoided. |
